I Seem to Have Fallen Off the Wagon

I really enjoy writing. Well at least I used to. I haven’t written anything in a long time. It sucks. I think I need to get back into the swing of things. I’m sorry for all the unfinished stories. If I’ve written something that you’ve liked and want to know how it ends, I’m sorry.

I’m not quitting. It’s just things right now aren’t the same as they were a couple of years ago. I just need to figure out how to get back into the swing of things.

I’m sorry if I’ve let anyone down.


The Crimson Pact

I’m submitting a short story, entitled, “Contagion Research” to this anthology. As you can probably guess it’s in the Elementary of the Dead universe.

It’s about a nurse at the titular Contagion Research facility who gets pulled in to draw a demons blood. Yeah things don’t go so well.

Anyway The Crimson Pact is worth checking out. It’s an anthology about multiverse hopping demons who leave death and suffering in their wake. Yeah it’s pretty intense. Larry Corriea has one short story in both volume 1 and 2. So yeah its awesome.

Has it really been ten years since that horrible day? A lot has happened in my life since then. I graduated from college, had kids, changed jobs several times and began writing. Wow.

So I guess this is where I’m supposed to say something inspiring.

The second best thing we can do to the terrorists is be happy and live productive lives.

The best thing? Well I’m not sure but it probably involves bacon grease and high explosives. 😀


Still Here

Hey guys, I’m still here. I’ve just been busy. I think I’ve hit a roadblock with Alone: Psi-Mage. It’s okay, now that I understand how my “Writers Cycle” works I think I know how to deal with it.

I’ve been molling over a short story idea now for a few days. The tentative title is “Military Working Humanoid.”

I’m not going to say anything more than that other than it’ll be a sci-fi story with the protagonist as one of the a fore mentioned “Humanoids.”

I’ve got some ideas but it’s still a bit rough. I guess we’ll see when I start typing.


I Didn’t Post About Independence Day…

Hmm… something must be wrong with me if I didn’t post about Independence Day.

We ignited incendiary devices that shot showers of sparks. Good old legal fireworks. Some of my neighbors on the other hand had enough ordinance to take over a small 3rd world country. Mortars, rockets you name it these people had some serious firepower. Which is all well and good but I’m not one to spend $500+ on fireworks.

On another note when people using the term “Fourth of July” it kind of annoys me. Sure it’s quick and easy to say but it takes some of the meaning away. The Fourth of July isn’t “lets blow something up day.” No it’s the day we celebrate our independence and continued freedom. Unfortunately our freedoms have been under attack for a long time now. I hope we wont ever need to but I fear the tree of liberty may need to be watered again.

We should be reminded of our independence from England, but not only that, our independence from tyranny. Today in my opinion we are living beneath a “soft” tyranny. But it wouldn’t take much to change to a hard one. Look at the government take over of the health care industry, the automotive industry etc. The Federal government has been scrambling for power at an alarming rate.

If we are to maintain our independence from tyranny we need to be forever vigilant. For too long Americans have been allowing the .gov to take away our liberties a piece at a time. We need to stand up to these statists and tell them to take their nanny state laws somewhere else.

The Declaration of Independence, which may or may not have a treasure map on the back of it states.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…

I hope and pray the day to abolish our government never comes but I fear that day could come sooner than we think. The government of the United States isn’t what it once was. It has grown so bloated and has reached its tendrils into places it was never meant to go. Why do we have so many Agencies, Departments and Bureaus? Why do we need them all? Go here and take a look at how many government bureaucracies we have. It’s insane.

The government has the Midas touch. Everything they touch costs gold. Except that thanks to Fiat currency we have no gold. But that’s another can of worms.

Governments are good at doing two things. Stealing and killing. That’s it. So if we valued our liberty we would get rid of at least a couple hundred of alphabet soup agencies.

Unfortunately too many people these days either don’t care or think that having a bloated government is a good thing. Unfortunately I know the way things are going are unsustainable. Something is going to break and our carefree days are going to come rapidly to an end.

Remember to stand up against any and all government encroachment and overreach and next year refrain from saying “The Fourth” and say “Independence Day” instead.
